Dallas Dubstep Reunion

So on my second evening in Dallas I was taken to a place called Snuffer's over in Plano, Texas. Man I had no idea how serious it was going to get for dinner when we walked through those doors.
Snuffer's cheese fries need I say more! Nothing back home compares to these bad boys hands down. I also had an awesome mushroom and swiss burger but I forgot to snap a photo due to my gluttonous activity.
Then before heading out to meet up with our good friend Joe Nice of NYC's own Dubwar we stopped at the local 7-11 where I saw a 2lb rice crispies treat. And the guy at the counter kept pressuring me to buy the damn thing.
Club Plush where the magic was happening that lovely and cold night in Dallas, Texas.
Before Joe got up behind the decks we all posed for a pic courtesy of my new G10. Came out pretty nice if I do say so myself. It was awesome to reunite with 2 of my friends in a place I had never been before and I hope to have the opportunity to do it again in some of the other great cities stateside. Then again maybe my next big trip will be to London for FWD or DMZ...
Did I mention my G10 also has video capabilities? Peep it!

Happy 2010

Happy 2010 to everyone! Sorry I've been on a bit of a hiatus. And I had to take the twitter feed down because it was corrupted. But I think things should be all good now. I've been busy helping organize the Together festival in Boston. And I have been traveling a little as well. As I write this I am in Dallas Texas visiting my my good friend and Bassic Resident DJ Pandai'a. So my first day here we hit up the La Hacienda Ranch for some serious Tex-Mex. Damn straight! After that I pretty much passed out for the next 4 hours while we watched "District 9"
The following day we headed out to a specific location that I have to keep top secret at the moment. However, the amount of vinyl in this place was amazing. The majority of it was rock and country but don't be fooled I found all kinds of amazing gems.
I even found this little puppy. Take a look at the tag in the upper right corner on the sleeve. Can you read it? It says Satellite Records! Who would have thought I would see that all the way out in Texas! Big up Melee and Pat Fontes of Satellite Boston. As a young DJ they were great mentors in giving me some direction. And I still learn a great deal from both of them! Respect.

IHOP Conspiracy

Peep the cup and then peep the coffee pot. Don't be fooled because that pot holds no more than maybe 3 cups total. I learned the hard way the other night at my local IHOP.

Bread

Went out to grab brunch and say hello to my home girl Rocky the other day. She surprised me by showing me the loaf of bread she had just received earlier that morning.

I Pee

On my way to a holiday party put on by good friends over at The Fringe Movement I noticed while at the bus stop that some individual had taken the time to scratch up the word "Free" on all the newpaper bins to now read "I Pee". Although this act is incredibily childish I still can't help but laugh! It certainly took quite some time, effort, and attention to detail on behalf of whoever did this. Art is everywhere you simply have to look for it some times.

Old Age

So the other day a friend rolled through to the spot and pulled out this bottle of whiskey that his dad had purchased in the 70's. Look closely in the pic at the top of the bottle and you can see it was bottled in 1972. It was made by this company Schenley who clearly none of us had ever heard of before. Mind you its now 2009 so this bad boy has been aged another 30 years on top of the original 8! Had a quick sip and it was super smooth, and I ain't no whiskey drinker so believe me when I say it's smooth.

Another Hidden Gem

So the other week some good friends of mine took me out for a bite at this spot called Highland Kitchen, which I had never heard of before. They were seriously hyping up the food, so knowing I'm a serious eater and my palette is not one to pass up an opportunity we hit it up. Turns out this place was literally just a few blocks from my old spot in Somerville. How did I miss it? Anyways the food was excellent. So much so that I brought back some other friends earlier this week. If you have a chance to hit Highland DO IT! I recommend the gnocchi (below), sage ravioli, half chicken, and the banana bread pudding (below).
