Out and about

So I'm riding gunner as we cruise to our destination and we end up behind this guy. First thought that hits our minds is that it might stand for I Hate The Fucking Police. Hmmm... Well we weren't too far off from what came up when we googled it. There was actually something in Wikipedia on this abbreviation and it comes close to home for all my Boston/Cambridge geeks. Imagine that! Here it is coming straight at ya!

IHTFP is an abbreviation for the phrase I Hate This Fucking Place[1] and is most frequently associated with Hacks at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. It is often used to sign hacks and also appears each year on the MIT class ring. Professor Samuel Jay Keyser[2] has said that it should not be taken literally but as an expression of rebellion against, and love for, MIT.

There are several backronyms used at MIT and other institutions:

Then I check my inbox and low and behold a good friend hits me with a complimentary snapshot of another FAIL meter while she was out & about. Thanks Star always a pleasure to know you're stalking me I mean up to date on my posts! I'm off to Vegas this coming week to check out the Magic Trade Show. I'm hoping to catch some serious material to post up here so check back.

It All Started...

So today I made plans to grab some brunch with a good friend and enjoy a relaxing sunday before heading home to see mom dukes. And of course low and behold on my way to brunch I spot this guy. Who's too cool to wear his shirt on the air conditioned train. You can't see it here but he has a purple hat that says "Cox Improvement" or some corny ish along those lines. And to compliment that he has some script tattoo across his chest and matching purple kicks. Dear God thank you for this brief lesson in tolerance.

I link up with my boy and we head over to the 303 Cafe for some grub. The french toast with nutella, rasberry sauce, and chantilly is no joke and not for the faint of heart. I could barely take this beast of a breakfast/dessert down. Upon further inspection of the place I noticed a drawing of a 3 eyed pickle. And I can't forget about the epic battle between thearmy soldier and the giant spider.

Then it was off to check out my boys new pad. He's got a loft space in a building that was once a bra factory. The building has some amazing photography on the inside of what it looked like before the renovation process, which really fascinates me. For those that don't know I'm a history junkie with a BA to prove it. Seeing things like this is a real treat. He's also got a serious view from the roof!

After brunch I made a brief rendezvous with High Snobiety, Patch Studios, and Uburger. Again please note my stomach is not your average joe. Once we hit Uburger I destroyed a Vanilla shake and a Yuppie Burger within a few minutes. This post is for all my Boston fam and their misadventures.

Human Nature Mix

I recently compiled a new mix within the last month and distributed it to friends. I figured now it was time to just make sure the link was posted up and let everyone else grab it if they wanted. Now for those who may not know when I compile a mix I take into consideration everything about the tunes I choose. From the sounds and quality of the mastering all the way down to the name of the song. Everything becomes part of the message that I am trying to convey. The mix itself is an extension beyond simply music and into a deeper realm that plucks and pulls on the thoughts and emotions of the listener.

I chose to call this the Human Nature Mix because I feel that the all the selections I have made are reflections of different aspects of the human psyche, emotions, and characteristics that make us who we are. But there's more to it than just that.

My good friend Markus Anacki over at Kaleidoscope Tattoo was kind enough to create some artwork to go along with the mix. You can check out some of his other work at www.ihatemarkus.com

So download the mix sit back, relax and enjoy. And please feel free to spread the word

Human Nature: the psychological and social qualities that characterize humankind, esp. in contrast with other living things.

Life is Art

This is one of those moments I wish I could have MC Escher right next to me so I could tell him how amazing he was. And how his art is reflected in sleeping strippers. Talk about taking it to the next level. Imagine if Escher got in the adult sex game. Cats would be fucking in upside down stairwells. gotta love it.

Post Mortem Blues

Don't ever leave your chicken in the car on a hot day or else it could end up like this. Poor guy left his chicken in the back while getting a coffee at my local Dunkin' Donuts and look what happened, the motherjoker nearly imploded. Lesson be learned kids. For more info
